Job Title: Marketing & Events Executive
Contract: Part-time
Salary: To be discussed
Location: 2 days per week in Orlando-area
Travel: Some local travel required, event attendance required
Job Description:
Story Circle is a production company focused on creating narrative-driven live events, video games, online content, and filmed entertainment. We also help others communicate more effectively through our consultancy work, drawing on years of experience in events, storytelling, communications, and audience engagement.
As Marketing & Events Executive, you will play a central role in building audiences for some of our flagship projects, including TEDxOrlando, Story Circle Live, and EPOCH: America’s History Festival.
This is not a standard corporate marketing role. One week you might be building a social media campaign, the next interviewing a TEDx speaker, attending a networking event, filming content backstage, or helping launch a new event concept. Variety is part of the job.
As our first hire, you will work closely with Story Circle founders Liam Rogers and Nick Rogers, and will have a genuine opportunity to influence the growth and future of the business.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, resourceful, and eager to learn. Start-up life rewards people who spot opportunities, solve problems, and aren’t afraid to try new things. If you’re the sort of person who enjoys variety and gets excited about helping build something from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.
You don’t need to be a TEDx nerd, a history enthusiast, or a professional storyteller. What matters most is that you’re excited by great ideas, interesting people, and ambitious projects.
In return, you’ll gain experience across marketing, event management, and content creation in a fast-moving start-up where your contribution will be visible from day one – in a fun and friendly working environment.
The role will evolve as the company grows. We expect the successful candidate to take on increasing responsibility over time and help shape the future of the business.
The position will be subject to an initial three-month probationary period.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver marketing campaigns for TEDxOrlando, Story Circle Live, EPOCH: America’s History Festival, and other Story Circle projects.
- Create engaging content across social media, email, website, and video channels.
- Help grow and engage online communities around our brands and events.
- Support audience development and ticket sales campaigns.
- Assist with speaker, sponsor, and partner communications.
- Attend events and capture content for marketing and promotional purposes.
- Conduct interviews and create written content, including articles, newsletters, and event features.
- Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Help develop new marketing ideas, partnerships, and audience growth initiatives.
- Support the founders with a wide variety of projects as the business evolves.
Qualifications:
Essential
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using social media professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on unfamiliar challenges.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable speaking with people from a wide range of backgrounds and building positive professional relationships.
Desirable
- Experience in marketing, events, communications, journalism, media, or content creation.
- Experience using Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress, and similar platforms.
- Photography, videography, and editing skills.
- Experience working in a start-up, small business, or entrepreneurial environment.
- Interest in public speaking, storytelling, history, live events, or creative industries.
Benefits:
- Opportunities to attend and participate in Story Circle events.
- Professional development opportunities, including training and skills development.
- Direct access to founders and senior figures from a range of backgrounds.
- Significant responsibility and autonomy from an early stage.
- Opportunity to help shape a growing company and influence its future direction.
- Exposure to marketing, events, content creation, partnerships, and business development.
